hello , i have a 1998 dodge stratus and am hearing some kind of hissing
noise inside the car, near the heater and a/c controls. now my a/c doesn't
work and until this noise started it was ok ,but i had to recharge it last
summer. any ides what i should look for and how hard to tear the center
console and heater controls apart? thanks Randy
Older Chrysler products used engine vacuum to move "doors" in hac
controls. They often hissed momentarily even when working well.
Don't know if your car still uses vacuum servos, but the combination
of a hiss and non-working AC sure sounds like a vacuum servo or vacuum
line problem.
