Let's face it American cars are just plain junk. When will Detroit wake
up and see that Americans want fuel efficient, reliable autos instead of
the junk they currently produce. I refuse to buy American because they
are such junk.

My 96' Ford Explorer has been a very reliable vehicle so far.
Most vehicles are actually quite reliable if their owners will open their
hoods every once in a while and do the recommended routine maintenance.
Most vehicle owners are too lazy.
They prefer to trade-in their vehicle around the time it's due for an oil
change.

I think it's time to not only get rid of unions but also the board of
directors at all three automakers. They have become too fat and lazy from
their greed. Get rid of unions. They have ruined the big three as well by
not really caring about quality of the autos they produce. Personally, I
think unions are a status quo system instead of a system that rewards
productivity.

I think American autos are better looking than many foreign models, but
reliability, just not there.

The reliability ratings of many European cars isn't that impressive
either.

I see a nice American auto, I usually have to remind myself it is
American and a piece of junk and remind myself not to buy it so I won't
have the reliability headaches.
