You have an odd definition of "whining."
"If I didn't know what the rules were going into the season, I'd say
we got the shaft," Gordon said. "But that's not the case. Ever since
they've had the Chase, they've said what it is. This year they made
the change to the 10 bonus points. It made the regular season more
exciting. It made everybody push harder to get those wins. It did what
it was supposed to do. But I do think they're going to have to revisit
now, going back. If you're going to have incentives for guys to win
races, you have to have some kind of incentive for a guy to go out
there and be the points leader at that point. I wouldn't be surprised
if they revisit that a little bit."
I call this asking Nascar to take a look at a tweak - something
they've already done at least once, with the Chase.
Face it: You don't want to read anything or see anything about JG, so
you call every remark whining, no matter how thoughtful or credible
his comments are.
And, as a matter of fact, tweaking the pre-Chase credit IS on the
agenda for off-season Nascar conversations. Like it or not, Nascar
does listen to its top drivers.
I can't stand Gordon. I think he IS a whiner and all.
But not this one. Seems he hit it right on. I have no problem with what he
said or his opinion. Lately, it's just his fans that need the kleenex.
