of course you're right.... but I think the problem is with the youth of this country. They feel as though they are invincible. By the time they have the wisdom and maturity as you and I they have been around the block so many times that it's often times too late to matter... youth truly is wasted on the young... ;)

Can't say I've never been stupid. Thank goodness I was lucky during my early years those times when I took chances. Like you say, that invincible feeling can be a great excuse to be daring (and stupid). It's just gotten so bad now I hope they learn quicker than we had to.

I guess the best advice I would give is that you don't have to worry about getting older and not enjoying things as much. Sex, love, sports, TV/movies, cars... whatever, is just as exciting to me now as 20 years ago. This generation should live to see their 100th birthday fairly easy (barring unfortunate circumstances). There's so much time to enjoy everything; no need to rush or take chances. Who knows what wonders await in the coming decades, it's something to look forward to and stay healthy for IMO.

How do you figure that people are going to live to be 100? The life expectancy for a man in 72 and for a woman it is 77. It strains credibility that it could jump all the way up to 100 in one generation.

That's for the generation that's approaching their 70s right now, and even many of them make it into their 80s. Those 50-60 years younger are 2-3 generations behind. With more cures for heart disease, cancer, etc. they will pick up at least 10 years per generation. My grandparents lived into their 70s easily. I firmly believe my generation will live until their 80s comfortably, and those 30 years younger will see 100 without much difficulty.

Do you know what kills people? Stress. Not heart disease, not lung disease, not cancer, just stress. It is ironic that people in prison on life terms live longer than people contributing to society. Once they get set into their no stress routine they just live forever.

I don't know about prisoners, but I agree with that. Stress keeps the body from healing itself to its maximum potential IMO and makes it much more vulnerable to disease & the effects of aging. Happiness has the reverse effect.
