Anybody watch these shows on Speed? Pretty cool stuff. Tonight theyshowed
the race at Martinsville from 1971. Back then they only started 30 cars,http://www.SecureIX.com ***
what they should be doing today on the small tracks and get this....cars
spun, and gasp, they didn't throw a caution. The world didn't come to an
end either. I think todays folks in Nascar could take some cues from back
then but wait, too many big money cars would either not make the race or
would finish a few laps down. Can't have that now can we??

I was worried that his show would be mostly fluff, nothing too much to it.
But the shows have turned out to be pretty good. I don't really care for all
the Junior laden lead-ins (and I am a Junior fan) but the re-runs of these
old races are pretty cool. Brings back a lot of memories for me, as I
started going to NASCAR races in the early 1970s. The "PopUp Video" approach
to the trivia/facts of that year are pretty neat, though I think they run a
few too many during the course of the show.
I just read on Jayski today (and it may be old news) but Speed just picked
up another 8 shows, apparently to stretch it out to what they're calling a
whole "season" of it. Not too shabby for a show and production company that
Junior lead the way on, given the copious amount of Junior haters out there
and all. Honestly, I dig the old race footage, and would be
watching/Tivo'ing it regardless of who was starring in or producing it. I
guess other people feel the same way, and is why it appears to be a success.
I just wonder how much Car & Track footage there is out there to make into
episodes? Did Junior/Hammerhead buy the whole catalog of shows?
