Because a lot of the folks here suffer little or no authority over their own
lives so this affords them the opportunity to "give it to someone" and
enforce a little discipline, damnit! It's generally those who are most
subject to authority around their lives, who have little to exercise on
their own, and who cannot understand any behavior address beyond punishment,
who clamor the loudest for the heads of others. This is their big chance.
It's interesting that those are generally the ones who most resent the rules
that prevail over their own lives...
