I doubt there was a lack of witnesses... however...
The point was,
is that there was a lot of potatoes and no meat..
The proper thing happened.
It was forgotten. Over. History.
Nobody got arrested.. Nobody went to jail..
People love to elevate something to what they would like to believe,
and sometime forget what really went on.
