Why would that be?
Because a higher-resolution picture is capable of giving a
much sharper picture than a lower-resolution one. I've come
across people who insist that it's no better than SD, and
indeed it can be worse than SD if fed a *** signal but a
good quality HD display fed a good quality HD signal is far
sharper than a good quality SD display fed a good quality SD
signal.
Redundancy = 100%
Some people insist SD is better for displaying SD signals as
they think you get a 1:1 pixel mapping, but you don't.
You don't? No I guess you get one line scan per line.
An HD display
displaying an SD signal has more pixels to use to correct the
inevitable mapping errors that you get even when using an SD
display to display an SD signal.
Try this. Upscale an 8 pixel by 8 pixel chessboard to 12 pixels
by 12 pixels. What size squares do you have?
You definately need to get yourself down to specsaver.
I haven't been looking recently but I have seen no end of HD
TV's (including one I bought and returned) displaying far worse
SD pictures than just about any CRT.
I've even come across people who insist that widescreen 16:9
is worse than 4:3 as you lose the top of the picture, they
ignore our vision's natural 2:1 field of view.
I'm sure there are even people out there who insist that
black and white TV is better than colour.
Well if there are it sounds like you are bound to come across
them.
(You won't get any colour artifacts or aberattion in B&W films
on a B&W TV so I guess when you find them they may give you a
run for your money)
A chap I know insists that stereo sound is a con, because both
ears hear the same sound anyway... He's quite serious about
it too. He also believes UFOs are aliens and the government
is covering it up and quotes masonic conspiracies. His views
on 9/11 are of interest mostly to the medical research
community..
So do you live in the suburbs or downtown Stupidsville? ;)
I write with humour and a sweet smile, you read "acidic".
So what your excuse for being an insulting ***?
Well, ok. From my POV I it's not obvious whatyou find acidic in my
response. As you say you see no humour at all I am guessing that you
missed the whole Stupidville joke and just thought I was insulting Ian
rather than taking the piss out his claims to know so many people that
he clearly regards as stupid.
And I don't have an excuse; I freely admit to being a ***.
""
Me --> "just joking LOL! <g> ;-P ...... I don't think so.
