Re: Interesting quote about Dennis/Alonso

It seems to me that (at present) much of the discussion has been about
feelings, suspicions and unsubstantiated guesswork. And that's fine, as
far as I am concerned (we don't have evidence for everything), so long
as we don't pretend it's something it's not. Right now, I can see where
Edmund is coming from, I just don't think the evidence exists (right
now) to support it. (I also don't think he's right, but that's fine
too).

So, I just don't see how you get to claim that anything is
"dead-to-rights"...unless you're talking about some other thread.

So, which parts of the criticism do you feel were "dead-to-rights"?

The A/P has injected himself far too much,

You base this on what? Just because you see him on television?

far too publicly and no doubt
far too much behind the scenes as well.

"no doubt"? Sounds like a baseless guess...

Far more than Willi Weber,
other managers, and other "F1 celebrity fathers", who by comparison seem
to know when to leave well enough alone.

I thought Jenson's father was featured just as much...until it was clear
he wasn't going to set the world alight. Right now, I see Felipé's
brother as much as I see Hamilton Sr. when I watch the coverage...

The plethora of "A/P TV"
coverage is a feature of the degree to which he makes himself available
and/or actively seeks it out. He has poisoned the well for the time
being and needs to fade out of the picture before it reaches permanently
toxic levels and his son is perpetually knows as a "daddy's boy", not
that due to the legacy of funding and sponsorship he won't still
perpetually be known as "McRon's boy" too.

He's a manager as well as a Father. If he's interviewed, it is because
he's been approached to be interviewed.

And just to bell the racist cats out there, the "boy" reference is
purely familial, as in "son".

I didn't read anything into that other than the somewhat uncalled-for
throwing of an insult - he's far from the first F1 driver to have his
Father follow him everywhere. I remember Rolf Schumacher being a
regular fixture at race weekends. Button's Father is no stranger to the
camera. And unlike either case, Anthony actually has a role (as
Manager) to fulfill.

So why pick on him? Why give him a silly (and nonsensical) nickname?
Why continually throw false accusations for which "no doubt" there's no
evidence?

See what I mean?
