Once you get rid of the aero, you don't have to get rid of the
engines, brakes, or anything else. Without downforce, acceleration is
not power limited but traction limited, so is cornering, and braking.
So you would see pilots struggling to cope with 800 HP engines trying
to get 500 HP tires hooked up. Braking distances go up 2.5-3X,
acceleration distances go up 3X, cornering speeds go down 1.9X. And
passing would be allowed by the physics of the situation.
From a slow start speed, there would be little down force, right? Once youget faster the aero induces drag. So, how do acceleration distances go up
3X?
