Re: HK front suspension looks like it broke

In article <873ap6uzhm.fsf@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>,
thefatphil_demunged@xxxxxxxxxxx says...
That's not how it works at all, alas. Standardised IQs are
renormalised occasionally in order to return them to mu=100
sigma=15, but only after drift has been quantified. Google
"Flynn effect". And, as IQs are monotonically drifting in
almost every demographic, have been for decades, and probably
will for decades more, you can be pretty sure that the
majority of the time, the mean IQ is not 100.

This the /measure/ of IQ, and not IQ itself. If the weather dude says
the temperature was 15dC, can you be sure the temperature was not
15.08dC?

There are many different ways of measuring IQ, and they provide many
different results, none of them 100pc accurate.

You also seemed to have completely overlooked the fact that
in his previous comment he was referring specifically to the
IQ of a sample of the population, not the general populution.

I think the sample he used was a "world" sample.

As Frank says though, it was just a tongue-in-comment, it was the follow
up assertion (probably also just tongue-in-cheek) that pedants united[1]
felt compelled to refute. Especially as some people genuinely didn't
seem to understand what exactly the quotient was.
