I would not consider it an anomaly but an exaggerated (hyper)

actually is.

The more you tell us about your points system the more it stinks;

1. You award more points for pole than for second place. Pole position
is the result of a one-off lap for the purpose of deciding the grid
position for the race. How that one lap can be worth more than having
competed for 90 minutes to finish second is beyond reason.

2. Weighting for leading the race is too high. To any reasonable
person, leading a race is not anywhere near as important as finishing
on the podium.

3. "Winning isn't everything." Obviously not, but try telling that to
any racing driver. Winning is far more important than qualifying on
pole + setting fastest lap + finishing second. Your points system
disagrees.

Come up with a better points system that is not so biased, or
statistically manipulative and try again. Try thinking through your
assumptions rather than weighting them heavily in order to skew the
results in favour of drivers you like. Avoid misusing statistics and
stop dredging for data that suits your particular agenda.
