I'm struggling to wade through he many hundreds of posts since Saturday
so this may have been covered fully and if so I would appreciate a
summary.
McLaren were penalised because their explanation for holding Alonso for
the initial 20 seconds before the lollipop went up was not accepted.
I expected they would appeal but if they do not (as predicted in some
press) that would surely be an acceptance of guilt for some reason.
What is known about these reasons? The stewards must have had some very
strong reasons in mind. They surely would not interfere so
significantly in the WCC simply because a team thought it was up to
them when they send their drivers out on track.
It does seem an unusual precedent.
Because a sideline player had a hissy fit and made wild accusations. Pure and simple.
If radio traffic corroborates McRon's statements, it should be overturned and the points awarded.
The hissy fit dude should be sent to the showers.
"No pit pass for you!"
