Apparently there is some serious talk about having a night race in
Melbourne. Ron Walker, organiser of the Aussie GP, said that 'it all
depends on whether Albert Park has the grid in place to sustain all
the lighting required in addition to the usual drain'.

Portable lighting that has its own generator for each lighting tower could
be brought in, reducing the load on the grid.

Apart from that
he also mentioned that it's basically up to the local government, with
regards to public and enviromental factors. Such as late night noise,
i presume.
So it seems this is almost a go ahead as far he is concerned and i'm
sure Bernie would be in on it already. It's up to the government.

Gimmick ? Or fun ? Somehow i doubt we'll see F1 cars with a row of
Hellas above the front wing..

Oh hell, strap a couple of LED flashlights to their helmets and let 'em have
a go at it ;)
