Part e) doesn't mean you're not allowed to take the seals off?
Correct. However, the part you snipped:
Following the first of the two Events, and within two hours of the end of
the post race parc fermé, further seals will be applied in order to ensure
that the engine cannot be run until the second Event. *These seals will be
removed at 09.00 on the day of initial scrutineering at the second Event.*
Emphasis mine. So, initial scrutineering comes around, they take the seals
off and replace, under supervision, the performance enhancing O-rings.
Good job those engines no longer use valve springs...would not like to fire
up a race engine which had been sitting still for 2 weeks without being
turned occasionally, to alternate the static strain on the valve mechanism.
