I've read a lot about Michael's magnificent race performance on Sunday,

was excellent indeed. But in 2005, Montoya was similarly relegated to

this
idea that "no one else" could do what Michael did on Sunday is a bit
far-fetched, superb though it was.
Actually, I didn't hear anyone say that "no one else" could do that,
merely that it was a good achievement and I'm sure it made MS feel
better to make some of those passes (especially JV). He would have
likely made it past RB if not for the SC coming out and putting him a
lot farther behind (though he also got one "freebie" on-track pass of
FA, if you're keeping score, since FA let MS and Fisi past on purpose).
I think the day would have eventually gone bad for him with perhaps a
collison with Rubens, MS was on fire passing slower cars and a team mate,
but Rubens didnt look easy to pass.
His teammate was told to get out of his way, there's a difference there!
