What were McLaren thinking with their pit strategy?

Had they not ran so heavy to begin with they might have done better in q3. I
don't understand these guys, they get paid all this money and a drunken
monkey from Nascar could do a better job with race strategy. That goes for
all of the teams except for Ferrari, no wonder they have the record they
have, they are the only ones who have figured it out.. I think I am turning
into a Ferrari fan or something, say it isn't so!
