FFS, i'm talking about the general public driving out there, not the
authorities. I also don't count the people on the space station, the
invalids in the nursing homes and for about 60 days totally discount
any of the nuclear sub crews, who left port this morning for their
stint at sea.

Incidentally, even the cops are under strict rules and radio
supervision when they enter a pursue and often they are called off
because it is SAFER for all to allow the speeder to get away.

So who the hell are you actually talking about, then? And why didn't
you illuminate whoever's left before, when you advocated that those
who want to speed should be allowed to?

Why don't you try reading it all again..
<quote>
It's the people that don't leave gaps that are the problem.
Typically, everyone's worried the agressive cutters are getting an
unfair advantage, so refuse to leave gaps for them. No gaps for them
means inefficient merging and lane changes for _everyone_, which leads
to merging and turnoff points causing slow-downs.
It also compounds that compression wave problem (which don't form
at all if everyone's running big enough gaps).

It's ignorance. If a driver wants to go fast, let it be. That person
may have a reason for it. It may be a silly one, it may be a serious
one. Running late for work, for a date, just being stupid, whatever.
Who cares, give them space and let them go and it's likely we'll all
arrive alive.
<end quote>

Which is where this discussion stems from. Did you think Bigbird was
talking about the cops not leaving gaps for drivers ?

To which you replied
<quote>
It's also likely they'll misjudge something and crash into a tree. Or
another car. Speed limits save lives.
<end quote>

Which is all very nice in an ideal world, but of course, is also
totally irrelevant to the discussion.
The first part of that paragraph is actually relevant, but i have
already explained to you, why leaving the guy to get on with it, is
the safest course of action.

Having said that, I'm certainly not
advocating getting in front of a speeder to try and 'teach them a
lesson' or something. Two stupids don't make a right.

Ahh, hello... How was the trip ?

<sigh> Yet more dancing. Get off the stage!

Well then try and work on your comprehension and reading skills, so
you won't trigger my humour cells with stupid replies..
