I think F1 is really not very strong in the US, otherwise track owners
over there would be cutting each other's throats for the event. As far
as i know that's not happening ? When Indy got the GP, were there any other tracks fighting for the
deal and are there any tracks at the moment threatening to take it
away ?


Hmmm, I remember after the farce last summer Infineon stated its desire to host the race if the contract was not renewed. Seems to me that it could make a swell track, although I believe several millions would need to be spent to improve run-off areas, barriers, and facilities. It would seem to be a decent location for a GP, being in the Bay area and in Sonoma wine country.
