if you are getting total freeze-up you are not even entering the "bug
check" .. there will be nothing logged..

it sounds like a memory leak .. try setting perfmon you can set it to
log all sorts of useful stuff, and the last entries are just before the
crash.

Are you frozen to the point that CTRL + ALT + DELETE does nothing? If
so then the other poster who mentioned MSConfig is on the right track..


now i don't remember if this required a patch from microsoft or not but
when we were having similar issues we were able to force a bug check
from a command prompt by typing kill explorer.exe

sysinternals also makes a program that may help.. but I would still go
with perfmon first
