Is it only me, or is it usually the LCD that "stretches" the image to fit 16:10?
*My* LCD has options for this, at the least (Dell 2405 something), I can choose 1:1, 4:3 or Fill so that graphic modes of less resolution than the full display resolution is treated accordingly. In your case, you'd choose 4:3 since you want your old game to be displayed as large as possible.

Try VDMsound instead. That might give you better results.

Well I have a widescreen lcd and I simply can't stand games that
stretch to fit the 16:10 aspect ratio so I think dosbox is my only
real option given I can run it in a window with normal aspect.
