Another highly reliable alternative for gas and oil exploration is
LiDAR. The technology is more commonly used in vegetation and
topographic mapping, and it is taking over satellite sensors to map
flora. Satellite sensors are capable of presenting data in 2D, which
is at times, insufficient.
