I've heard some folks talk about running hotter plugs to keep them from
fouling on the SL1 engines that burn oil. Anyone know what plug is
actually "hotter" than stock? I stopped at the local NAPA auto parts
store and they said my stock plugs are the hottest available except for
these after-market "oil burring car" plugs that have a 13/16 hex instead
of the smaller hex our stock plugs have.

Re: which solution to stop pinging? ... When I got the truck running with the new engine, it used to ping quite a bit when I goosed it. ... A friend that built and worked race vehicles for a living suggested I go a range colder on the plugs, which were at the stock heat range.... Changed the plugs as suggested, not only did the pinging stop, the truck would lift the front wheels a few inches off the ground when I punched it at low speeds in 2wd. ... (rec.motorcycles.dirt)
