I have done this several times in the last 8 years with Discount Tire. There has never been a problem.
The last time I was in, they did not have the Toyos I wanted and they were the ones to suggest I order them and have them sent there. That is pending until more MSU's arrive...
Also, iirc, Discount Tire was pushing the warranty, (at cost, like with all of their tires), on the mail-order tires as well as the ones that they carry.
No reason that they shouldn't, warranties make a lot of money for them.
I have always turned these warranties down anyway. It's a pretty easy decision to make when the tires are replaced almost annually.
