First, if all your brake lights at the rear of the car are working
normally, then the module is fine.
If this is the "brake light out" warning light on the dash that's on, then
you should check the center high-mount brake light. Everybody forgets that
one.
If all your bulbs are in fact working, then you've likely got corrosion on
one or more sockets that is increasing resistance such that the control
unit *thinks* a bulb is burned out, even though it's not. Remove all the
bulbs to check for rust.
