Hi all,
I just took my Mustang to a local shop for a oil & filter change. It's the 3.9 liter V6 model. The correct Ford filter is a FL 400S. The shop put on a number SL 20195 filter non Ford. I can seem to find any information on this filter or a cross reference chart to make sure its the right filter. This summer a had a back problem & I let one of the local chain stores here change the oil on my Chevy Blazer and 2 months later the filter blew out on the road, I also lost the motor due to the fact that they put the wrong filter on the truck. I get a little nervous dealing with any one now until I'm sure they know their stuff. Any one know if this is the right filter or know a good cross reference site? Thanks for reading my post.

A prime example of why I never take any of our vehicles to any shop for anything. Ever.
Doing it yourself lets you choose th ebest oils, best filters, best parts etc... you KNOW what goes in the car, and how the work was performed, and you KNOW you won't try to charge yourself for work that was not done.
I hate repair shops, and dealerships are no better.
