reason I ask is I am considering finally drinking the kool-aid
and getting a GPS unit but am trying to decide between buying
new and used, and how much less a used unit would have to cost
for it to be a good deal.
I'm thinking of the nuvi 500 but am open to suggestions as to
other recommended products (not locked into Garmin either, but I
like buying a "big name" so that I know support will be there in
the future.) This would likely be used primarily in the car but
could also be used elsewhere (bike, hiking, etc.) But primary
use would be to navigate unfamiliar areas in the car.
When I bought my Nuvi last year, it came with 1 free update.
After that there is a charge.
