Yes there is. It's a POS truck with little compression left.
If the engine is so weak that it can't hold itself on a slight incline, it
would never start.
The clutch
is nearly worn out.
Again, if it's that slippery, you wouldn't worry about parking it, as you'd
never get it OUT of a parking spot. Did you watch the video? There was
nothing holding that truck. NO resistance. The wheels were free-wheeling.
The clutch linkage jammed holding the pedal to the
floor when he parked
OK, but then we'd have to assume that the parking brake was busted, as well.
... yeah he should have noticed that... but he
should have noticed it rolling as he got out too. It's a POS truck and
the shifter is sloppy it appeared to be in first but was in neutral.
Should I think of more? :)
The simplest explanation is usually correct. We can imagine all kinds of
far-out mechanical problems that would combine with other far-out mechanical
problems to make a truck left in first gear with the parking brake set roll
on a slight incline.
But the most likely scenario is that there was nothing seriously wrong with
the truck, and that someone set the parking brake and put the tranny in 1st
gear AFTER the truck rolled away from the C-store. -Dave
