...and since when were speed cameras so located and marked so that

camera itself; if there's any signage it'll be on the camera

Jeepers.  Whether you like cameras or not, they would be useless if
there were signs posting their presence.  That's saying "You can speed
everywhere but here."  The only deterrent effect is that you are NOT
sure where they are.  That is a strong point of the portable cameras
over the fixed location type.  With regular road cops, one of the
valuable points is that you never are sure where they are, and when.

If speed limits were set properly 90+% of drivers wouldn't have to worry
where speed cameras were at all. They simply wouldn't care because they
would never get a ticket for reasonable speeds.

Funny how even the fixed location type can keep catching people waaay
over the limit, and way over the general flow of traffic, even on very
busy highways.

Cameras care not for flow speed.  Flow speed is irrelevant to camera
enforcement.

Only assuming here but don't they set the "speed tolerance" to pretty
much agree with what a cop allows?, i.e., if a cop won't ticket
unless speed is more than, say, 10 over the limit, the camera should
also allow that. Of course that is using logic and logic goes out the
window when such a wonderful modern device is available.
