Last night, coming home from work, I saw an older gentleman riding a
bicycle (metallic blue road frame) in a 100% legal and courteous manner.
He was riding toward the shoulder of a wide 2-lane road, and as I
approached he signaled left.  I slowed and let him take the lane in
front of me as we approached a red light.  He waited his turn at the
light and as he approached the intersection he signaled a left turn,
waited for oncoming traffic to clear, and proceeded on.

That is the first time I have seen a cyclist both signal and observe ROW
rules properly since I moved here, almost two years ago.

I seriously wanted to chase the guy down and compliment him but he
probably would have thought I was a nutbar if I actually did.

Occasionally you do find a rare gem in a trash heap. It reminded me
of an observation a few days ago of a trucker earning automatic
disqualification from the GPSTroll Award.
