I find these laws rather intrusive. As a kid, I often wanted to stay in
the car, having no desire to walk around a store. Sometimes I was
allowed to. The car didn't even have AC.

That is a law I agree with. There have been 2 instances in the past
year in this small area where kids died because of it.
