Naw, when people say that, they mean that the cargo shouldn't be
moving on Interstates and large US highways for hundreds or
thousands of miles. Move it the first 50 miles, and the last 50
miles by trucks, but much-smaller-than-semi trucks, and do the rest

I live in the DC area. Here, major corporations put on advertisements on the
radio attempting to inform congresscritters of the facts of their industry.
That is one that is repeatedly touted in radio spots here.

And it doesn't _have_ to be diesel. Rig some overhead wires, and you
can power it from nuclear, wind, hydro, solar, etc.

Maybe we'll use Aluminum, then. Lotsa other stuff conducts electricity.
