The gov't has tried that on the one with issuing the dollar coin (the
SBA in the 70s and the Sac. starting 2k), but those coins will never
catch on as long as there's a circulating paper equivalent and the
printers keep cranking it out. Damned shame, as the coin overall, due
to its durability, is less costly to the gov't than the note.
