Ladies and Gentlemen (and I use those words loosely), Nate Nagel said in
rec.autos.driving:
It *is* crap, just like current speed laws. If people were trained to
a) drive properly and b) properly select their vehicles (i.e. don't buy
vehicles with ludicrously high centers of gravity relative to their
track width for use on public roads as daily transportation) that would
save far more lives than any electronic stability control, which
undoubtedly some people will choose to buy anyway.
Just makes me curious: how on Earth did we (the USA) as a nation - or
for that matter we (humans) as a species - ever make it this far with
out seatbelts, airbags, helmets and all the other "safety," crap that
has been forced down our throats?
Oh, yeah, that's right, it was that whole survival of the fittest
thing....
