You have a point to an extent. However, there are two problems with
that though: 1) what if my vehicle gets stolen and the offense occurs
when my vehicle cannot be accounted for? Should it still be MY
responsibility for something the theif did? 2) Cameras aren't perfect.
The cameras can mis-identify vehicles. So should I be guilty for
someone else's offense just because the government agency identified
the offending person's car as my own despite the vehicle not being
mine?

The problem is, traffic cameras aren't perfect. Surroundings can be
adjusted, especially at red lights in the area of changing yellow-light
timing, to prime the area to catch more violators. That is the biggest
issue, becaause that is wrong. Oops, did I say wrong? I'm sorry, I may
have offended you European-type people where the concept of right and
wrong can be offensive. I'm in for it now.
