Accidents increase because you have people who will be ultra-sensitive
around those cameras, most of which are considerably visible. In the
cases of red lights, you get people, such as myself, who in fear of a
tangled legal mess, will avoid going through a yellow light where
there's a camera because of the fear of getting a fine. Which as a
result, leads to slamming on the brakes when it would be safer just to
go through the intersection before the light turns red.
