Reminds me of a news story several months ago, one of those routine
periodic tallies of customer satisfaction with various vehicles.
Therein it was revealed that Hummer H2 owners were surprised and
displeased at (among other things) their gas mileage.

The displeased part is understandable, but being surprised seems to
imply that they expected something else. Perhaps they thought that
somewhere in the owner's manual was an asterisk they could apply to the
laws of physics.
