The Dyna output transformers are not optimal and shouldn't be messed with
by scratchbuilders. If you value your own time, ante up and buy a pair of
new transformers. Several new good choices are available, some as cheap as
$75 or so.
I bought a 150 lb. box of transformers at a hamfest a couple months ago
for $25. I pulled out a couple of NIB Stancors powers and a WE 111 and
eBayed them, and sent everything else to scrap. Some of them probably were
perfectly good. We came out ahead on the copper alone, I sold all the lams
along with a few junk engine parts to the car crushers'.
They will be smelted and the silicon will come out of the iron. New steel
will be made from them.
Buy some new iron, you cheapasses, and keep America working.
really need some wat to check them for shorted coils and whatnot..so
by the time I get a Sencore LC103, I could have bought a whole box of
coild and caps...new! I did miss one on Ebay for $199 I wish I had of
bought though...
