But I find that when you have eliminated all this crap by using
humungous stores of energy
everywhere you can, then ppl tell me the sound is like a really fine
religious or spiritual experience.
Then there are crossovers in speakers.
In an already fine pair of speakers, I recently I replaced the NP
electro caps with all polypropylene large Obligato caps
and got an all over musical betterment. No change in C values, just a
change from the little tiny electros to
huge lumbering polyprops, like motor start caps actually.
It sure didn't worsen the sound.
The stored energy is the same though.... and damped resonant filters are
normal in nearly all speakers,
yet hardly anyone talks about them in depth, although they'd have a big
effect on the sound,
depending who does the design work.

Some caps make a difference sometimes - nothing special about that.
Capacitors are essentially chemical or electro-chemical devices, all
of which have a response time. Which differs from formulation to
formulation. Nothing new there. Where there is some thought and
intention required is in knowing which to put where, and more-so, why?
Point being that Bret's meds wore off, or he is not yet properly
adjusted to his new ones - much drivel runs from his fingers under
these conditions. And certainly nothing 'new' or startling is possible
from that source.
