Re: eBay: WESTERN ELECTRIC 274A globe rectifier tube with engraved base

Forgive my ignorance, but can I ask why so much for a rectifier tube? Are
these collectable in and of themselves because that type is rare? Or is
anything made by Western Electric collectable? Or is some sort of audio mojo
associated with them?
