1614 --- good point Brett, I never knew the tube actually had higher ratings,
as I haven't actually owned an MC-30, but a TDSL search on the 1614 reveals it
is indeed a different animal from a metal 6L6, with significantly higher
ratings.
The 1614 has a higher screen voltage rating than the 6L6, doubtless an
important feature for the MC30 design, but when I look at TDSL it
appears that the 6L6 has a higher plate dissipation rating than the
1614, and it was the plate dissipation rating that Bret said was lower
for the 6L6.
