Sowter are quite good but not really in the same league IMHO. I don't
know
Welter.
Can one really give a reliable opinion not knowing anything at
all about 75% of the horses in the race?
I see no MICROPHONE transformers on Welter's site. See the thread title ?
Just like Sowter, Welter can provide many more transformer
types than those listed in their standard range.
I have on my list some half-dozen type numbers which
do not appear on the Sowter website. On addition, none of
the patterns built for Decca, and designed by Bob Goodman
or Alan Reeve, are listed though all can still be supplied to
order. This probably applies to most of the BBC patterns, also.
I would be interested to know why you think that Sowter
are "not really in the same league" Can you give a type
number that does not meet or exceed its specification?
Sowter has been for many years the transformer winder of
choice of broadcasting and studio facilities in the UK and
many other countries within the EBU.
Will you SHUT UP now ?
It seems that neither high grade transformers nor
good manners are among the prerequisites of the
karaoke equipment builder? :-)
