I think it would be harder to get a PCB based design wrong, for an
uninitiated constructor. It would avoid having to learn anything about
circuit layout, for example. I own a preamp which has a 5AR4, and a 6V6
regulator mounted on a PCB, and I've had 5 years of problem free operation,
so I don't see it as a death sentance. Everything else I own is point to
point, save for some old radios. For DIY I use only point to point, for no
other reason than it's much easier than making PCB's.

When will people figure out tubes and PCBs don't mix??? Pointwiring
is radically superior for DIY and for production products in this
