Nor should you considering what you do. All a commercial tester (even
the best ones) would do for you is give you a smaller universe from
which to screen further. And if you are shoving a tube into a
machine/circuit for testing purposes, why do it twice?
For vintage radio work and for OTS electronics, however, they are
useful. For the purposes of this NG, however (rec.audio.tubes), only a
high-end & properly calibrated Mutual Conductance tester would have
much utility even so. And that only in the hands of a user that
understands what it *cannot* do as much as what it can do.
