Hello

I am designing a tube amplifier, and I need to make/buy a transofmer that
provide about 350-400v. Where would I find such transformer, or the
magnetic
core at least?

Thank you for your time.

If you can live with vintage/used transformers (some new) try here:

A lot cheaper for projects and specs are listed for the used ones. Worth a
look.

The cheapest source apart from parting out old junked units is going
to be using one intended for a guitar amplifier. They are sold to the
MI market on an A mark basis, which means if you finagle dealer
status-which takes little moxie-you can get most of them for $25 to
$50, cheaper than Hammonds.

There is one for a Peavey, I forget the model, which works very
perfectly for a 50 watt Class AB ultralinear stereo amp using two of
any popular octal output tube which was made for a 100 watter and has
120/240 primaries parallel/seriesable. Perfect for running on 230 VAC
balanced AC in the US as I advocate, or on 117 regular power. They were
like $38 and change apiece. They were made by Schumacher and are of
good quality.
