One of the very few places I'd prefer an analog meter over a digital
one.
It is easier to follow a trend by looking at a moving pointer than to
gaze at some jumping digits, IMHO.
Odd, though.
My variac talks to me.
The moment the current draw gets too high, it starts to growl.
And I found that's a faster and more reliable way of determining
problems than any meter could ever do.
