The Labout Party has a long history about which you should read before
making statements about communism fucking up Oz via labour movements.

The Communist Party of Oz was formed long ago just like communist parties formed

all around the globe in many other capitalist countries.
But they were a dismal failure here since most ppl had the brains to work out
that communism
doesn't work outside religious orders. The Christian Brothers
lived in their religious communes and everyone got along.
People in Oz could see that Stalin's fukkin Russia or Mao's fukkin China
were arsolic places to live in; one never knew when the knock on the door at
midnight
would happen, and you'd be whisked away to be shot.

We have never had a Pinochet type lording power over us and look at the blood
that arsole spilled. Don't fukkinh lecture me on the perils of communism when
the
right wing juntas and dictatorships can be equally murderous.

At present we have had nearly 10 years of ultra right wing government who is
about to
pass laws of a draconian nature to limit anyone dissenting with the
establishment.
These are the new anti terrorist laws, and when passed will put Oz at
about the same flavour of Germany in 1933.

Nobody gives the slightest sized rat's arse about communism in Oz at all now.
It didn't work, its past tense, been there, tried that and we have moved on.
But in the 50s and 60s there were many trade unionists who were members of the
communist
parties and thank goodness they were there to fight for the rights of the
workers of the day because the Liberal government of those times run by Robert
Menzies
needed some stern resistance lest workers be ground into the dirt by rampant
capitalism.

Under the new laws I might get arrested and held indefinately for saying just
what i have
iof the counts in power suspect I am a hindarnce to the system; they lable me as
a terrorist
suspect, then throw the book and key away.

The same right wing Liberal government plans to revolutionize the
industrial relations regulations to make it dead easy for the boss to sack you
and de6termine what you will be paid, and without any interference from labour
unions.
Bosses unions will be encouraged to keep existing, and keep grinding
the workers down to make export industries more profitable.
So we have a government which wants to advance the rich folks, and to hell with
everyone else.

Maybe its just what you'd like if you moved here.
Its unlikely you will suffer the same limitations you have in the USA though,
despite the direction we are heading in.

Oz is one of the longest lasting democracies in the world.
We didn't have to have a ghastly civil war to sort out differences of opinion
on slaves like you guys did, or have all those european wars that seemed to have
gone on since
man first set foot into europe.

We are not angels though, we poisoned and shot and diseased most of the
aborigines we came across
when we moved onto their land. The remnants are mainly cross bred and angry,
but harmless because they have little power.

But really you should read a whole lot more about Oz history if you are worried
about moving here.
You can always move back if you don't like it and under new laws we we will
certainly move you back
if we don't like you, and get you pay all the expenses involved.
Its not nice, but if you are a true blue capitalist, you should have have no
trouble
with the regime.
At least half of the ppl in Oz vote for the regime when it asks them to.
And if they think there may be resistance they spend 40 million bucks
on advertising to convince you they know best.
Ideas that need such advertising like the proposed industrial relations law
changes
are always suspect. Good new laws don't need advertizing.
