express card slot, so i could use either/or for the 1394 connection.

The 500GB HD looks big enough, but it's only 5400 RPM
(SATA?). Will
this be a problem?

It uses the Nvidia 9600GT chipset, which is one of those affected by
"Bumpgate." If it has the bad material, it will die an early death.

Stay away from Nvidia till the fall.
