Sure, I've done that, but how would that be faster in a CLI? I was
talking about the situation that the poster was talking about.

It wouldn't. That's what I was demonstrating, I thought..

believe other people can.

It doesn't matter the interface -- you still have to figure out what
files to delete. You either have to look and click or look and type. If
you can type well enough, and know how to look while typing, you can
select files very fast.

But that isn't the point anyway. If you are smart, you don't put lots of
unrelated files in the same folder anyway. You name or organize them
(during or after the operation) so there is commonality and organization
in the first place.

If you aren't smart, or don't have the tools to allow you to do it
differently, you will put lots of unrelated files in the same place.
That makes it difficult to organize well -- you will miss many files
no matter what tools you have. You still have to recognize the file,
and recognition is imperfect.
