Re: New card. Rear speakers not working

I just pulled out my Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card. I replaced
it with a Sound Blaster Audigy SE Card. My existing speakers are 5.1
I also installed the disk that came with the card.

I changed the settings in XPs Sounds from desktop speakers to 5.1 and
rebooted.

No rear sound. Also, I still have a setting under control panel for
Santa Cruz control pane.

Suggestions?

I was not able to locate a Sound Blaster control panel

And that would be your first clue in the mystery. It indicates that
the software (drivers, utilities, etc.) may not be properly installed
for your new sound card.

PS: This newsgroup is not particularly about computer sound cards.
There are other newsgroups specifically chartered for discussion
of computer sound cards. I'd bet that there are some online forums
especially for SoundBlaster, even.
